Classic Vanilla Bundt Cake

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Combine Mixtures: Alternately add the dry ingredients and sour cream to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  6. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool and Serve: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely. If desired, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
