Turmeric Ginger Tea

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 inch fresh turmeric root, thinly sliced
  • 1 inch fresh ginger root, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or to taste)
  • Juice of 1/2 a lemon
  • A pinch of black pepper (to enhance turmeric absorption)

Instructions:

  1. Simmer Roots: In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add sliced turmeric and ginger. Reduce heat and simmer gently for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Add Flavors: Remove from heat. Stir in honey, lemon juice, and a pinch of black pepper.
  3. Steep: Let the tea steep for about 5 minutes.
  4. Strain and Serve: Strain the tea into mugs, discarding the roots. Serve warm.
